Yanmar diesel generators (YDG) are produced by a world-wide manufacturing business, operating in many countries. In the USA, it is Yanmar America Corporation. You may have noticed, high recognition of their products, be it diesel generator sets, construction equipment, machinery, or marine engines. That’s why, considering this well respected brand when buying your next diesel generator is a smart move. In general, their products are regarded a cut above the rest, a sort of “deluxe” version of diesel back-up power that most American homes and businesses should have, at their disposal. Why? Although Yanmar diesel generators’ prices are higher than their competitors (YDG3700 is offered for between $2,500 and $2,999 by most dealers) their outstanding operational parameters, coupled with low maintenance costs and good resale value, makes them a definite emergency power source for American homeowners and business operators. Rather than buying a cheap, imported diesel generator, consider investing in one, that will give you an outstanding and dependable service for the years to come.

So, you want to buy a cheap diesel generator? Who doesn’t! But, it takes a fair bit of the footwork, or better, searching online, to locate really good deals. After all, it’s not difficult to find 15kW gensets for less than $1000. However, there’s very little value in them, after 500+ hours of run. That’s why, you should always do your research diligently, and if possible, employ for an hour or two, and expert (from the diesel generator dealership, etc.) to advise you about the veracity of the deal.

Now, here’s what I found: diesel generators can be bought cheaply on ebay. Yes, you may have heard that one. But, did you know, that you can even negotiate delayed payments? And they often offer a free shipment. Just recently, there was a Generac Diesel Generator, 35kW and with only 100 hrs of use. It was offered with a huge base tank (135 gallon) and had the transfer switch rated at 100 A. Made in 2002, it seemed to be a tad too old. But, even at the “Buy now” option $6,500 it was a good deal. Expect to pay more than $12,500 for a new unit. Concluding, it makes sense to check all the latest deals on ebay, before spending your hard earned dollars…
